csnyde: As promised, here’s a few of my more interesting Background Paintings from Motorcity - episode 03, “Ride The Lightning.” I was assigned the tent area sequence(s) where Mike takes refuge only to be held captive, and oh… there’s that AWESOME, incredibly well animated fight scene that goes down in here too. ;) At this point I started feeling a bit more confident and secure in what I was doing.  Juuust a bit. I definitely was still struggling and overcomplicated the process on certain aspects of this area which came back to bite me in the arse and bogged down my overall progress and speed in turning these out… Commence sweating! The goal was to really differentiate this area from the snow & ice of the majority of the scenes.  I knew the typical KaneCo Blue colors weren’t gonna work here, so I came up with the idea to turn the overhead flourescent lights indicated in the layout drawings into lo-tech supercharged space heaters. To push the idea even further I went with the strong, warm orange colors to help contrast not only the snowy, cold exteriors, but also the colors of the KaneCo guards that were the main characters in this area. Early/Middle of next week I’ll share some stuff from… Motorcity - Episode 04, “Texas-ify It!” (after it airs of course.) -Clarke
